Lake

Lake Washington Series

I grew up in Seattle, therefore was around lots of water both on the ground and from the sky. Although I moved away over 30 years ago, I still have a sense of nearby bodies of water in my consciousness. Lake Washington is a 20-mile long lake stretching the length of the city on one side; Puget Sound is on the other; there are more lakes elsewhere and the ocean is not so far away. The joy of going to the beach as a child (“A Day at the Lake”), the way the blue water pops into your sight daily, have made the lake a thematic backdrop to my memories. I go there often in my mind…..and in my paintings.
